March 31, 2022 Rocky was surrounded by his children as he took his last breath in Mesa, AZ. Don was born January 4, 1941 to Othmar and Matilda Rothstein. He had two sisters, Darlene and Marlene, and four brothers, Ronald, Armin, Art, and Dennis. They were a close-knit family that spent a lot of time together.
Don's professional career consisted of working for Sears and Sears Contract Sales. During his time with Sear's Contract Sales, he achieved many goals and received numerous awards for his work ethic and accomplishments.
Throughout his lifetime, Rocky was always involved in many organizations. Some of his favorites were Sports Incorporated, the Lion's Club, the Eagles, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.
Don loved spending time outdoors. He spent half of the year in Apache Junction, AZ where he could play golf, shuffleboard, and listen to music while sitting outdoors. The other half of the year he spent in Minnesota. While in Minnesota, Rocky played golf, spent weekends at Mille Lacs, fished for sunfish, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, one son, Kevin Gruba, his wife Patricia (Patsy), and his son-in-law, Johnny Boyd.
Don is survived by his first wife, Rosalind, his six children: Jeff Rothstein (Julia), Michele Boyd (Mike Donovan), Gary Gruba (Heather), Diane Gau (Todd), Bridget Schaffer (Mike), Brian Rothstein (Julie), 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Don had countless friends who he treasured spending time with.
