Donald Seales, 88, of Coker, Alabama passed away to Heaven peacefully on July 22, 2025. Don was born in Tuscaloosa to Lewis and Irene Seales. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Alvin Seales.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, his children, Stacy Light and husband Scott, and his son Daniel Seales and wife Susan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sam and wife Chloe, their children, Lucas and Leo, Jackson and wife Keely, Batson and wife Callie, Bailey and fiancé Taylor, younger brother Tommy Seales and sister-in-law Virginia Seales.

Graduating from Holt High School, Don went on to open his own TV repair business before joining the Army. After returning from service, he worked for Kincaid TV and Repair. Later in life Don returned to school, receiving an Associate in Applied Science-Electronics from Shelton State Community College in 1985 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Athens State College in 1987, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He began teaching Electronics at Shelton State Community College where he continued until his retirement.

As a Christian, a follower of Christ, Don spent his life serving his heavenly father with the people at Circlewood Baptist. Over the years serving in many roles alongside others at the church. He based the foundation of his life on faith in God and service in the church.

An avid fisherman, Don practiced his fishing skills alongside fellow fisherman. For many years he enjoyed trips with Keith, JC, grandson Jackson and son Dan. Don and his longtime fishing buddy, Keith Davis enjoyed many trips that resulted in tall tales of large and small catches and entertaining stories about the adventures.

Always an inventor, Don later began designing and hand crafting fishing lures from cedar. A hobby he continued till God called him home. For a time, at Ann's request, Don put lure making aside to construct folk art Santa figures. These were made in all sizes using the bends in cedar branches for elbow and knee joints creating figures that looked as if they might walk across the table.

The family would like to thank Hospice of West Alabama for the care and guidance they provided during the past five months. Beth, Kim, Jane and Tim gave much needed comfort and support to both Don and the family during his final months.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating and burial to follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Circlewood Building Fund at Circlewood Baptist or Hospice of West Alabama.
