Donald Seiser Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Millet-Guidry Funeral Home - LaPlace on Mar. 6, 2026.
Donald Paul Seiser, a veteran of the United States Army and a master of many trades, passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on March 10, 1944, in White Plains, New York, Donald was the son of the late Mary Young Seiser and Joseph Paul Seiser, Jr.

A proud patriot, Donald served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he returned to Miami, Florida, where on June 14, 1969, he married the love of his life, Maureen Thiele Seiser. Their 50 year journey together was a testament to enduring love and partnership until her passing in 2020.

In 1976, Donald moved his family to Louisiana, where he built a life centered on hard work and his favorite hobbies. A true "tinkerer" at heart, he could often be found in his garage fine-tuning woodworking projects, working on his cars, or navigating the evolving world of electronics and computers. Whether he was crafting something with his hands or solving a complex problem, Donald approached every task with precision.

Donald's greatest legacy is the family he helped raise and the wisdom he passed down to them. He is survived by his two children, Doreen Seiser Adams (Chuck) and Michael Paul Seiser (Melissa); his sister, Susan Seiser Johnson; five grandchildren, Ryan Adams (McKenzie), Tyler Adams (Marisa), Jeffrey Adams (Lauren), Corey Seiser (Heather), and Ashley Seiser; and his great-granddaughter, Hazel Seiser.

He will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, a dedicated husband, and a father and grandfather who could fix just about anything except a broken heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell.
