Don resided in Springbrook Township for the past 32 years. He was the son of the late George T. Shimko, Sr, and Theresa Shimko, both of Pocono Summit. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Werkheiser, of Bartonsville, and two brothers, Joseph Shimko of Maine, and George Shimko, Jr, of Alabama.
Don is survived by his three sisters, Mary Shimko, Frances Yando, and Kathy Stidham and husband, all of Pocono Summit, his children, 3 grandchildren and many nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at 3:00P.M. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Bolock Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco Pa 18326 where a memorial visitation will take place from 2:00P.M. until the time of service.
