Donald I. Shoop

SHOOP, Donald I., of LaCrosse, died Friday, March 21, 2008. He was the owner/ operator of Shoop Insurance in South Hill for 52 years, a member of the American Legion Post #79, a master Mason, and member of the South Hill Masonic Lodge #297 A.F. & A.M. and the Scottish Rite Temple of Richmond, a member of the Heifer Project International, and a United States Air Force veteran. Survived by his wife Amanda Shoop; three daughters, Debby Pauley and husband, Bobby, Laurie Axt and husband, Wally, all of Mechanicsville, and Maria McMillan and husband, Robbie, of South Hill; two sons, Mike Shoop and wife, Joy, of Glen Allen, Va. and Marlin Shoop and wife, Cyndi, of Raleigh; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and "Kip" Lafoon of South Hill; and a brother and sister-in-law, Hamilton W. Shoop Jr. and Eleanor of Punta Gorda, Florida; seven grandchildren, Allison, Corey, Molly, Jessamyn, Luke, Laura and Austin; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George J. Shoop. Services Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at 4 p.m. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with American Legion Post #79 military honors. Visitation Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
