Donald V Sickel, of Sherman, died October 18, 2023, in Sherman TX. He was born on February 6, 1932, in Adair, OK to the late Charles A., and Gladys L Sickel.
Donald was raised in Falls City, NE and graduated from Falls City High School in 1949. His life was one filled with family and joy. After high school, he joined the Army National Guard in the 1950s, before moving on to farming and construction. Donald had multiple achievements, even making it on the cover of Farm Magazine.
He married his wife, Patricia Ann Overfield, on October 14, 1951. After her death, he married Rose Sickel on January 1, 1998.
Donald himself was full of life, love, and a sense of community. He enjoyed playing (and winning) board games with the grandkids, loved birdwatching, and he loved playing jokes.
He was a member of the Legacy Bible Church of Denison, TX.
Donald is survived by his wife, Rose Sickel; daughter, Roxane Wade of New Braunfels, TX, and sons Dennis Sickel, of Washington, IN, and Kevin Sickel and his wife Becky, of Killeen, TX, stepson Rusty Sarrett and his wife Tammy, and stepdaughter Robin Delozier. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and multiple step-grandchildren, step great- grandchildren, and 2 step-great great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gladys Sickel, sister Donna Wienert, his first wife Patricia, and 2 stepdaughters, Roxanne Fox and Ronda Jones
The viewing will be held at the Legacy Bible Church on Monday, October 23,2023 between 5PM and 7PM.

Funeral services will be held graveside at The Verdon Cemetery, in Verdon, NE at a later date.
