Mr. Smith was owner/operator of Temp Service Systems, a heating and air conditioning company. Donnie loved to go fishing and hunting and he also liked to watch football, baseball and nascar racing. He loved his farm with all his cows and dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Denise H. Smith of Martin, GA. His children, Julie Smith Love of Martin, GA and Donald E. "Bo" Smith II of Jefferson, GA. Two grandchildren, Lillieayna Love of Martin, GA and Mary Everett (Ricky Crawford) of Sugar Hill, GA. One great grandson, Jackson James Lee Crawford and three great granddaughters, Raylee Rose Everett, Marilyn Elaine Crawford and Emily Elizabeth Crawford. Brother, Robert C. Smith (Caroline) of Brooks, GA. Sister, Kay Smith Roop (Jim) of Rockledge,Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Arlene Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Evans Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6P.M. until 8 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home. Honored as pallbearers are Christopher Roop, Brian Roop, Eric Few, Robbie Smith, Kyle Love and Lillieayna Love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (http://www.stjude.org/) or the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter 870 Bear Creek Road Lavonia, GA 30553.
