Donald Wayne Spear

     Mr. Donald Wayne “Don” Spear, age 65, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at his residence after several months of failing health.

     Born in Whittier, CA he was the son of Roger A. Spear and Barbara Langan Spear, who both survive and was married for 39 years to Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Spear, who survives.  Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  He was a career Truck Driver and worked the last 21 years with Brown Integrated Logistics, where he achieved the Million Mile Safe Driver Award.  Don loved fishing and raising numerous types of birds and also enjoyed woodworking and collecting all sorts of various items.

     Don is survived by his wife of the home; three children, Simone Taylor, Jonathan (Sarah) Spear and James Spear; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Caroline and Sabrina Taylor, Colton and Lilith Spear and Tristan and Emma Spear; his parents; a sister, Linda (Dan) Herrick; and a brother, Ronald (Judy) Spear.

     A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 3, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with military honors following.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
