Donald Frank Speyer, known to all as Frank or Squeak, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025 in Vancouver, Washington.

He was born on May 2, 1936 to John Dubois and Pearl (Bickford) Speyer in Havre, Montana.

Frank graduated from Vancouver High School in 1955. He received an athletic scholarship to Linfield College where he played Football. After attending college he went to Baseball spring training in Florida for the Washington Senators. He then went on to play semi pro baseball for teams in Montana and Alberta, Canada. He returned to Vancouver where he officiated high school basketball and football for 33 years. He also coached for Evergreen and Glenwood Little Leagues for many years.

Frank retired from Clark Public Utilities in 1998 after 30 years as a heavy equipment operator and a water inspector.

He enjoyed spending time in Ocean Park, Washington and his winters in Apache Junction, Arizona and traveling the US and abroad. During his retirement years he enjoyed golfing, gardening and harvesting cranberries at the Washington coast. In his spare time he enjoyed making stocking caps, wine cork birdhouse and baking muffins for family and friends.

He loved attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events. He was very proud of all the athletes in the family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan of 54 years, his daughter, Stacy Wooldridge, his son, Monte (Alison), three grandchildren, Shane (Jamie) and Tyler Wooldridge and Lindsey (Travis) Speyer Strickland, three great-grandchildren, Raelan, Bane and Harlan Wooldridge, sister Peggy Workman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters, and his son-in-law Mark Wooldridge.
