Donald C. Sweeney, age 75, of Ephratah, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Born on December 8, 1949, in Gloversville, he was the son of the late Donald Sweeney and Ella Henderson Sweeney.
Donald was a man of courage, known for his handy skills and selfless nature. He served his country as an army veteran from 1970 to 1972 and later cemented his legacy through his dedication to the Fulton County Department of Solid Waste and his contributions to the Leader Herald. Donald was an avid hunter, who cherished the great outdoors and kept active throughout his life. His readiness to lend a helping hand will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian of 44 years; son, Christopher J. Sweeney; daughter, Tracey Sweeney; grandchildren, Sierra, Kendall, Christopher, and Michael Sweeney; great grandson, Milo; siblings, Pat Rivet, Thomas, Dennis, Mark, James Sweeney, Marsha Lamere, Tina Mulder; as well as several nieces, and nephews.
Memorial donations in Donald's memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
