Donald Tabor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home & Crematorium on Dec. 17, 2025.
Our beloved brother, godfather, and friend, Donald "Buzzy" Harvey Tabor Jr., 76, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully at 4:47 p.m. surrounded by loved ones on December 9th, 2025.

Born July 6th, 1949, to Donald Harvey Tabor Sr. and Mary Jane Tabor, he and his sister, Julie Tabor, grew up in Bluefield, WV. He earned his nickname "Buzzy" when he wired an intercom from the first floor department store to the apartment upstairs so that when a customer needed assistance they could call.

Don graduated from WVU School of Pharmacy in 1972 and went on to work at the University of Virginia, Vancouver, Arizona Mayo Clinic, Stanford, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He retired from his passion in pharmacy and worked for the WV Census.

Donald chose to be a godfather to Holly Duvall and a godgrandfather to Noah Zoller, Kenny Zoller Jr., and Lindbergh Zoller. His first love, James Burton, passed away when they were young so Donald decided to build his own family.

Don loved to travel and eat great food. He had amazing taste in hotels, museums, art, and music. His favorite musicians were Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. He loved to take pictures everywhere he went. He loved to cook because it was like chemistry to him.

He always tipped well and showed appreciation wherever he went. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Arlington, VA, and a member of St John's Episcopal Church in Charleston, WV.

He was loved dearly by everyone he met because he was such a genuine, loving soul.

Condolences may be sent to his family at www.barlowbonsall.com.

Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
