Donald Taylor Obituary
Donald J. Taylor, 88, died peacefully on November 9, 2025. He was born on May 9, 1937, in Toledo, to Theodore and Marcella (Spenthoff) Taylor. Don graduated from Macomber High School, Class of 1956. Being born the second youngest of 11 children, he continued his lifelong learning of vocational skills and hobbies from his brothers, uncles and cousins.
Don proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Local 50, a Union for plumbers and pipe fitters. He attended and later taught classes for R.S.E.S.
Don was involved in the Boy Scouts, Troup 252, coaching, Knights of Columbus and a past Post Commanders of the American Legion Post 642. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and spending the summers at the family cottage on Lake Erie.
He and his late wife, Beverly, were devoted to their Catholic faith, and were active in the group Parents with Priests. He supported Beverly with many wonderful holiday open houses for family and friends, most especially the Easter Sunday brunches.
Don is survived by his children, Claudia Tomasi, Cindy (Mike) Bruss, Fr. Doug Taylor and Brian (Joyce) Taylor; grandchildren, Kahla, Jessica, Josh, Terry, Megan, Sean, Max, Angelo, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Ritchie, Silas, Ivey, Logan, Owen, Madelyn, Max, Blake, Tessa, Cecilia and Elijah. His 2 sisters-in-law also survive, Nancy Nadeau and Pat Taylor. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; infant daughter, Beth Ann; son, Randy; and all ten of his siblings.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Monday, November 17, from 2:00-7:00 p.m., with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, with an hour of visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church.
