Donald Tito Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Donald (Don) F. Tito, 81 of Moxee, Washington was called by his Heavenly Father on July 29, 2025. He was released from all the pain and suffering he endured during the last two years. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family who at his request prayed the rosary for him.
Donald was born on September 1, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Dominic Tito, three siblings, Frank, who died in July 2025, Dominic Jr. and Linda, who died in infancy.
He graduated from Austin High School in Chicago. His family moved to Riverside, California, where he attended College and studied Architecture. The Army draft called him and after his basic training he was transferred to Fort Lewis, Washington. His rank on completion of service was SP4 (E-4).
While serving at Ft. Lewis, he met his wife, Bernadette Sevigny, who says when she first met him; she knew she was going to married him. They were married 58 yrs.
He held several different jobs prior to his career choice of United State Postal Service which he retired from after over 35 yrs. of service. He was a true Renaissance man who remodeled their open basement area into two bedrooms, a sewing room, additional bathroom and a family room; added a deck and above ground pool to their house.
He loved working with tools but still had time for his family and friends playing cards, pinochle, cribbage, singing, jeeping, camping and of course annual Sevigny family reunions.
He was a scout master, organized Special Olympics events as the Grand Master of Knights of Columbus; went to swim meets, awards ceremonies for his kids and grandkids and of course attended all school events especially graduations from grade, middle and high school.
He helped his children move when needed. He was involved with helping at Holy Rosary Catholic Church when he retired. Before Memorial Day, he and his family would put American flags on all of the Veterans ' graves at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette, two children, Maria & Christopher, two granddaughters, Alyson and Alexandra, who called him "Papa", two sisters, Louise Dufault and Catherine Robinson and many, many beloved cousins.
On August 7th a Celebration of his life will begin in Holy Rosary Church in Moxee with a Rosary at 10 am, followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:30 pm, with his Burial at the Holy Rosary Cemetery after Mass and followed by a luncheon at Holy Rosary Church Hall in Moxee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's name to either Holy Rosary specifying for the roof repair or to Holy Rosary Cemetery Foundation which provides for maintenance of the cemetery.
