Donald Dewey Trumbull

Donald Dewey Trumbull, 94, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Colonial Manor, Amana. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Coggon Cemetery, Coggon, Iowa. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa assisted the family.

Don was born September 7, 1931, on the family farm, Quality Ridge Stock Farm Coggon, Iowa, the son of Dewey and Ellen (Main) Trumbull. He graduated from Coggon High School in 1949. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1951 – 1955 during the Korean War in Okinawa. On February 26, 1956, Don was united in marriage to Beverly Topping. He worked at and later owned Ray’s FoodLand in Norway, Iowa from 1957 – 1988 and Lefebure from 1989 - 1999. Don and Beverly lived in Mission, Texas from 1999 – 2004, before they settled in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his children, Tracy (Gary) Peterson, Ventura, IA and Douglas (Pam) Trumbull, Norway, IA; grandchildren, Samantha (Mike) Felton, Drew (Kasey) Trumbull, Grant (Tasian) Peterson, and Trudy (Kellan) Richards; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Beverly; his brother, Bob (Ellad)Trumbull; his sister, Corrine (Nyle) Sauer; all of his sister/brother-in-laws; his parents; and Bev’s parents.

The family would like to give special thanks to Essence of Life Hospice and Colonial Manor for the excellent care provided to Don.
