WAWAKA - Donald Tulloch III, 92, of Wawaka, Indiana, died on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born June 6, 1933, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Donald H.C. Tulloch Jr., and Louise (Bookhammer) Tulloch.
On Sept. 17, 1961, at First Presbyterian Church in Kendallville, he married Linda Schermerhorn.
Donald graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and obtained his MBA from Wharton School of Business.
He honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Tulloch was an editor and publisher at Meredith Publishing, also known as Better Homes and Gardens; Curtis Publishing, also known as Ladies Home Journal; and Editora Abril in Brazil. He also owned and operated his own publishing company that produced Good Ideas for Decorating and Varia among other publications.
Donald lived in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, for more than 70 years before moving to the Schermerhorn family farm in Wawaka in 2017.
He was a member of Atlantic Indians Trap Shooting.
He was deeply proud of his Scottish heritage and cherished the many wonderful memories made with his family aboard their sailboat, exploring the Delaware Bay and Chesapeake Bay. A connoisseur of bourbon and cigars, he also had a deep appreciation for art, music, and the craftsmanship of collectible duck and geese decoys.
In his spare time, he found joy in writing. He authored and published his own book, Chance Circumstances, a heartfelt account of the Korean War.
Above all, he loved his corgis and treasured every moment spent with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Linda Tulloch, of Wawaka; three daughters, Gretchen L. (Richard) Bowman, of Moscow, Idaho, Helen Margaret "Meg" Tulloch, of Kendallville, and Susannah M. Tulloch, of Fremont; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a brother, Hugh B. Tulloch, of St. Petersburg, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Steven L. Wallace; and a brother, Charles W. Tulloch.
Memorial services will be held at Brimfield United Methodist Church will be announced at a later date.
Burial will be in Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
