Donald "Don" Waggoner of Avon passed away at home December 31st, 2023. He was born in Jefferson Co on Christmas Day, December 25th, 1939, to Ransdall and Mary Margaret (Fischer) Waggoner. Donald was an Amo High School graduate from the class of 1957. He went on to attend Ball State and married Virginia in 1958. He worked in the accounting field in various roles and at various places while the kids were going up. He especially enjoyed helping friends and family with taxes. Have Taxes, Will Travel. Always on the go, he would come to you to get the job done. Later, he was able to attend Hanover college where he finished his degree in accounting. He didn't need or want to slow down. He retired from the state as an accountant, but also worked at Fed Ex part-time for 25 years. 20 of those years were spent loading tubs where he excelled at maximizing freight load capacities and challenged younger workers to keep up with him. His last 5 years at FedEx saw him doing payroll, but it was no desk job. He would walk miles to pick up and sort timecards for entry. A lifelong member, he loved his home church of Coatesville United Methodist where he enjoyed singing in the choir and helping maintain the financial status of the church. His Sunday was full especially if the Kansas City Chiefs were playing, and as an avid lifelong fan, Donald loved to cheer them on and was able to catch them at a game in town against the Colts. He was also on the Amo High School Reunion committee and would help everyone stay in touch with the annual mailings. Always active and working on something though he was not a fan of technology, he did meet his wife Judy on a Christian online dating site. He was calm, patient, and never raised his voice.

He is survived by his Children - Dawn (Wilson "Jr.") Jones, Dale "Lori" (Thomas) Abbott, Deanna (Danny) Sanders, Daniel Waggoner, Dana (Billy) Hider, Terri (Tom) Strong, Grandchildren - Jason (Maggy) Waggoner, Eric (Ashley) Jones, Larrissa Bingham, Justin (Jenny) Abbott, Danny Jr. (Brandi) Sanders, Brandy (Alex) Dickerson, Hannah Sanders (Orion Geddes), Dustin (Stephanie) Sanders, Berk, Jack, and Colleen Waggoner, Ken (Corie) Strong, Jennifer (Brian) Fox; Great Grandchildren - Gavin, Adyen, Adalyn, Zoie, Samantha, Sophia, Asher, Danny III, Kayla, Liam, Cooper, Kendall, Owen, Grant, Hudson, Baylor, Sean, Shane, and Sam; Sisters - Peggy and Shirley. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers - Richard and Kenneth; Sisters - Susan and Denise; Wives - Virginia and Judy; Stepson - Doug Bush and Great Granddaughter - Haley Sanders.

Funeral service will be at Bousley Funeral Home in Coatesville on Saturday, January 13th at 3:00PM. Visitation will be from 1:00PM that same day until the time of service. Pastor Danny Sanders will officiate. Burial to follow in the Coatesville Cemetery.

I cannot think of a kinder, more sincere man than Don. His work ethic was unmatchable as well. I will miss his calm demeanor and dry wit!
Rest in peace my friend, you were one of the best!

Don took over my job of picking up time cards at FedEx. Always a great guy to talk to and did our taxes and my sons for years. Got to know Judy and she was always very kind like Don. He is with the Lord and Judy in Heaven.
