Sheets & Childs Funeral Home - ChurubuscoMichael C. Waggoner, age 75, of Churubusco, left us on March 14, 2026, at his home.
He was born on May 3, 1950, to the late Alfred and Catherine (Corn) Waggoner. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Northside High School in 1968.
Michael was a loving husband to his wife, Deborah Waggoner, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage that began on January 18, 1970, in Fort Wayne.
Michael dedicated his life to serving his community as a letter carrier at the Post Office for 36 years, embodying commitment and kindness in both his work and personal life.
He was a proud member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and found solace and strength within the Sugar Grove Church of God community, where he regularly attended services and contributed to church activities. Michael's spirit was uplifted by his passion for birdwatching, a hobby that connected him with nature and brought him immense joy.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Waggoner; his daughter, Emma (Mark) Marqueling; five grandchildren, Jordon (Parker Randall) Waggoner, Henry Margueling, Hunter Waggoner, Arabella Marqueling, and Nathaniel Waggoner; two brothers, Alva (Sharon) Waggoner and Mitchell (Michelle) Waggoner; two sisters, Teresa (Bill) Suetic and Janice Hipskind.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Waggoner, on December 25, 2025, and his sister, Donna Reed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Sugar Grove Church of God, located at 5019 E. 500 S.-57, Churubusco. Friends and family are invited to gather for calling hours two hours before the service to share their love and memories.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Grove Church of God or the Churubusco Food Bank.
