Ellen Marie (Ringler) Clair, 79, of Churubusco, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at Miller's Merry Manor in Garret.
She was born on July 1, 1946, in Fort Wayne, to the late Ryan and Thelma (Lapp) Ringler. Ellen spent her early years in Fort Wayne before moving to Huntertown, where she would graduate from Huntertown High School in 1964.
Ellen spent several years in Indianapolis, where she embraced the challenges of her career in product management in the aero-electronics industry. Ultimately, her journey brought her back to the familiar surroundings of Huntertown and into her retirement in Churubusco and the Columbia City area, where she cherished time with her son and grandchildren.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Ellen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for fishing, enjoyed golfing, and was an ardent supporter of IU basketball and the Chicago Cubs. Her enthusiasm for these activities created cherished memories and connections with friends and family alike.
Ellen is survived by her son, Jon Paul Scott; her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Berlynn (Benjamin) Klaehn, Kaley Addison (Tiffany) Androl, and Ryan Paul (Rylee Crooks) Scott; her sisters, Suzanne (Gary) Seagers, Cindy Getty, Carolyn (Ron) Gephart, and Jeanette (Clifford) Crance.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Ringler, and her sister, Margaret Jackson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
