Donald J. White, born on April 1, 1952, in New York, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, with his family at his side.

He spent his formative years in New York before relocating to Palm Beach County, Florida, where he made lifelong friends and touched many lives through his service at church.

At the age of 52, Don pursued a new path by attending the police academy, leading to a fulfilling career in law enforcement. He began this journey with the Lantana Police Department in Palm Beach County, and his commitment to service continued as he moved to Fort Walton Beach, joining the Fort Walton Beach Police Department. Through his dedication, Don became a member of the Honor Guard, where he honored fallen officers and participated in numerous events, showcasing his deep respect for the profession.

Don's career included roles as a K9 officer with his beloved Belgian Malinois, Caty, and as a member of the SWAT team. He notably collaborated with the U.S. Marshal's task force, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to public safety. He eventually transitioned to the Walton County Sheriff's office and continued serving as a member of the Honor Guard. Don concluded his career as a school resource officer, where he touched the lives of countless children, embodying the protective spirit of law enforcement.

Above all, Don cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Linda Crow White, his wife of 24 years, and a beloved Pop Pop to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and commitment will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.

Surviving family includes his wife, Linda Crow White; his children, Jillian Perez (Miguel), Chris White (Jessie), Kathy Greenbaum, Melissa Wood (Shamen); grandchildren, Javoni (JoJo) Perez, Brayden Perez, Logan Perez, Kaylee Robinson (Greg), Jonathan Greenbaum (Natalie), Bryce Wood, Ozzie Wood and SJ Wood; great-grandchildren, Chance Robinson and Naomi Greenbaum; sisters, Marjorie Waldman, Susan Melio, Barbara Keane (Bob) and Nancy Goertz (Gordon).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and James White; daughter, Cheryl Ann Stockton.

A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at Church at the Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, FL to honor Don's life and contributions to his community.
