On March 25, 2023, Mr. Donald Williams passed away at the age of 75 at the University Medical Center's Burn Unit in New Orleans, LA due to an accident that occurred at his home on March 6, 2023. Mr. Williams was a life-long resident of Angie, where he grew up on a dairy farm. He graduated from Varnado High School in 1965. He began his career at Angie Post Office as a rural mail carrier, and retired in 2009 after 40 plus years of service. Donald attended Angie Baptist Church and served on the board of Angie District 5 Fire Department for several years.
Donald was a devoted husband that had been married to Paulette for 40 years. He loved his children and grandchildren and they loved him dearly, also. The grandchildren would always visit whenever they could for paw-paw to ride with them on the golf cart or the Polaris. Donald and Paulette traveled as often as their health would allow.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife: Mrs. Paulette Wheat Williams; three children: Amanda Williams Sanchez and her spouse, Brennan, Donnie Smith, Jr. and his spouse, Sherrie, and Angela Smith Ard; five grandchildren: Dyllan Williams, Camille Sanchez, Weston Daigle, Kennedie Daigle, and Aaron Ard; a great-grandchild: Eleanor Smith and her mother, Sarah; two brothers: Toxie Williams, Jr. and his spouse, Sherry, and Larry Williams; one sister: Diane Plohetski and her spouse, Victor; seven nieces and nephews: Anitra Ball, Wesley Williams, Chris Williams, Veronica Plohetski Ratcliff, Tony Plohetski, Wesley Parker, and Allen Thomas; and two sister-in-laws: Cathy Musacchia and her spouse, Joe, and Keri Thomas; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Toxie and Nettie Williams, and one brother, Phillip Williams.
Bro. Larry Mizell and Rev. Barnes will officiate services with interment to follow at Williams Cemetery on H.H. Williams Road in Angie, LA.
