Private graveside services for Donald L. Willis age 82 of Palestine will be held at Parker Cemetery in Grapeland on Saturday, April 25, 2020. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Willis passed away, Monday, April 20, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Palestine. He was born March 12, 1938 in Hubbard, Texas to Arlo and Mildred Mae Carrway Willis. Mr. Willis was the Battalion Chief for the Saginaw Fire Department for a number of years and was employed over 30 years with J & L Tank. Mr. Willis was a member of the Saginaw Baptist Church.
Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Willis, a son Paul Willis, brother John Willis and a son-in-law Jerome (Pete) McLen. He is survived by his daughter Melinda McLen of Palestine, sons, David Willis and wife Brandy of Palestine, Johnny Willis and wife Jennifer of Hemimdal, North Dakota, a sister Dora Day of Cleveland, Texas, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be John Michael Mendoza, Earnest Light, Tony Armstead, Jordan McClendon, Brandy Willis and Doug Pelt (Kidd). Honorary pallbearer will be Diana Hestilow.
