Donald A. Wilson, 86, of Battle Lake, passed away November 15, 2025, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Donald A. Wilson was born December 24, 1938, in Fergus Falls as the oldest of six children to Arthur and LaVerne (Larson) Wilson. He grew up in St. Olaf township and attended country school district #285. He graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1957. After school he joined the US Army. He served from 1959 – 1961, stationed in Alaska. Upon returning from his service, he was united in marriage to Corinne (Martinson) in 1962 at Zion Lutheran Church in Amor. To this union two children were born: Carol and Dean. Don did various welding jobs then worked as a printer at Victor Lundeen’s for 37 years. Additionally, Don was a farmer. Don and Corinne lived in various places before eventually settling south west of Underwood for 30 years and then moved to Corinne’s home farm East of Amor where Don lived until his passing.
Don was good with his hands, his hobbies included woodworking, welding, and cutting up scrap iron. He also had a passion for genealogy. Most importantly, Don loved his friends and family.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Corinne; daughter, Carol Renaud; parents, Arthur and LaVerne; brothers-in-law, Alvin Magnuson and Jim Rehm.
He is survived by his son, Dean (Renee) Wilson; son-in-law Rick Renaud; three grandchildren, Trista (Dustin) Kitzman, Trent (Jaci) Wilson, Ryan (Kylie) Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Kitzman, Harper Kitzman, Theodore Kitzman; five sisters, Lois Magnuson, Loraine Rehm, Alice (Randy) Tamberg, Arlene (Neil) Brenno, Ann (Reed) Rasmussen.
A Memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham, MN, with a visitation beginning an hour prior. Burial will be held at Trefoldighed Cemetery in Battle Lake.
