On Sunday, July 10, 2022, Donald A. Yozzo Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife by his side.
Don was born on April 2, 1947 in White Plains, NY, the son of the late Dominick A. and Carmella Nicotera Yozzo. After graduating from UFA, Don proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Topeka (1965-1969). On August 22, 1970, Don was united in marriage with Patricia J. Schafer, and was looking forward to celebrating their 52nd anniversary next month.
Surviving are his wife, Pat, his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Peter Hayes; his son, Donald Yozzo; grandchildren Ashley, Danielle, and Michael Russo and Emily Yozzo; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Christine Seavey Yozzo; sister-in-law, Diane Carville; Christopher Russo, Kevin Mosier, Alysa Keady, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Theresa Gaeta Schafer, Don was preceded in death by his in-laws Joseph and Mildred Schafer, Michael and Marilyn Schafer, Jacqueline Schafer, Thomas Carville, and his nephew and special Godson, Timothy Carville along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In keeping with Don's wishes, there will be no visiting hours and a private Mass of Christian burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Don will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
Don's family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Kenneth Visalli, Dr. Najam Din, Dr. Ramesh Cherukuri along with Dr. Clifton Mo not only for their medical knowledge but also their care, compassion and kindness given to him. The family would also like to thank Father Joseph Salerno for his spiritual guidance throughout the years.
