Donalyn Lee Knighton

Donalyn Lee Knighton (86) was born April 11, 1938 to Donald C. and Olive G. Kirk in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away March 12, 2025. Donalyn was raised in Utah and California, then her family moved to Boise Idaho. After graduating from Boise High in 1955, Donalyn worked for Boise Payette Lumber Co., Idaho Fish and Game, and Container & Packaging. She met the love of her life, LeRoy J. Knighton, and the two were married on March 11, 1957 in the Salt Lake City Temple. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Donalyn served in many callings throughout her life.
Donalyn is survived by her husband of 68 years LeRoy, daughters Cindy Lee (Dan) Thomas of Federal Way, WA; Linda Kay (Brent) Bastian of Meridian, ID; sons Gregory Roy (Lis) Knighton of American Fork, UT; Kirk Alan (Marilyn) Knighton of Emmett, ID; Ronald Jay (Pamela) Knighton of Boise, ID; Brian David Knighton of Boise, ID; 23 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, her brother Richard Kirk of Pagosa Springs, CO; sisters Sharon Swallow (Stan) of American Fork, UT; Lorraine Kimball (Ralph) of Lehi, UT, as well as countless near and dear friends.
Donalyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Knighton, parents, great grandson Judah Knighton, sisters Marjorie Braden, Marilyn Harden, Bonnie Smith, and in-laws Jim A. and Eva Knighton.
Services will be held March 19, 2025, at the LDS Church located at 3451 N. Locust Grove Rd., Meridian, ID. at 11:00 am. with a viewing from 10:00 10:45 am.
