Donell Jerome Richardson

Donell Jerome Richardson, a vibrant soul born on April 11, 1981, in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Queens, passed away in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 5, 2025, at the age of 43. He will be remembered for his exceptional ability to connect with people and bring joy to those around him.

Donell carved a niche for himself in the automotive industry, working as a dedicated car salesman at a Volkswagen dealership. His charisma and persuasive nature made him a remarkable salesman who could sell a car to anyone. His professional accomplishments reflected not only his talent but also his unwavering commitment to his work.

He held an Associate's degree in Business, which, paired with his love for the sport, allowed him to reach notable heights on the football field. His talent was undeniable, and many believed he had the potential to advance his football career further, had he chosen that path.

In addition to his professional life, Donell was a die-hard NY Jets fan, showcasing his loyalty and passion for the team. He was known not only as the life of the party but also for his splendid dancing skills, which brought laughter and warmth to every gathering. Donell loved taking pictures and always had a camera in his hand to capture all the beauty and adventures life had to offer. His genuine sweetness, caring nature, and thoughtfulness left a lasting impact on everyone who crossed his path.

Donell enjoyed playing flag football and had a profound love for riding his motorcycle, pursuits that brought him joy and camaraderie throughout his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife of eight years, Janice Richardson, and a family that includes his mother, Sherita Frazier; stepmother, Lynette Richardson; grandmother, Velma Richardson-Graziano(Joseph); sisters, Tiffany Richardson, Brittania Cole, Deborah Frazier, Gorgeous Frazier, and Precious Frazier; and brothers, Marcus Richardson and Arjay Richardson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.. He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Robert Richardson, Jr., and grandfather, Gilbert Robert Richardson, Sr.

Services to honor Donell’s life will be held at Raymer-Kepner Chapel in Huntersville, North Carolina. Visitation will take place on April 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM. A repass will be held following the funeral service.
