Donna Belt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Duyck & VanDeHey Funeral Home - Forest Grove on Feb. 23, 2026.
Donna Marie Belt, 82, passed away on February 19, 2026 at her home in North Plains, OR, with her loving husband by her side.

Born on August 15, 1943, Donna was raised in Coquille, OR, and later in Pacific Grove, CA. She graduated from Pacific Grove High School as a proud member of the Class of 1961. Throughout the years, she remained a loyal alumna and always enjoyed receiving the Knockout II newsletter - a small but meaningful connection to her roots.

On November 10, 1963, she married the love of her life, Donald Belt. Together, they built a marriage grounded in commitment, teamwork, and shared devotion to their family - standing side by side through every season of life. They began their journey in Milpitas, CA, where they raised four very active boys. With Justin, Lance, Troy, and Kim under one roof, groceries - especially milk, cereal, and fruit - were bought by the carload. There were endless practices, games, and busy evenings - and Donna and Don were always there. They coached, kept score, and cheered proudly from the sidelines. Baseball wasn't just something the Belt boys played - it was a way of life for the entire Belt family.

In the early 1980s, the family moved to Oregon for work and to be near Don's family. There, they purchased property and built a home of their own, laying down deep roots grounded in hard work, resilience, and family.

Donna was known for her sassy, sarcastic sense of humor. She had a quick wit and a sharp comeback, often delivered with perfect timing. She could make you laugh and keep you humble in the same breath. Beneath that spirited personality was a woman who loved her family fiercely - and showed it.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don, and their four sons and their families: Justin Thomas and his wife Nancy, and their son Cole; Lance Belt and his wife Katie, and their sons Brandon and Jordan (wife Becca); Troy Belt and his wife Therese, and their children Elijah (wife MJ), Lachia, and Paul; and her youngest son, Kim Belt and his wife Abby, and their children Keidyn and Maddox.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Connor (son of Justin and Nancy Thomas); her parents, Raymond Britton and Helen (Pattison) Britton; her siblings, Raymond Britton, Donald Britton, Darlene (Britton) Karst; and her brother-in-law and best friend, Frank Karst.

In her later years, Donna faced Alzheimer's disease - a difficult journey for both her and those who loved her. Even as memories faded, the impact of her life - the laughter, the lessons, the unwavering support - remained deeply rooted in her family. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, laughter, and countless memories at the ball field - a life woven deeply into the fabric of her family. Donna will be cremated, and at her request, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, honoring the many years she spent cheering for and supporting the game she loved through her boys and grandchildren, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Banks Summer Baseball - PO Box 371 Banks, OR 97106- where her youngest son serves as a board member and coach, and her youngest grandson plays.

From her family:

We will carry your humor, your grit, and your loyalty forward. Every crack of the bat, and every crowded family table will remind us that you showed up - and that mattered more than anything.
