Donna Jo Bertran passed away on April 28, 2025 in Cozad. She was born on August 8, 1947 in Lincoln, NE to Donald K. and Goldie Bertran. She grew up the youngest of four daughters and graduated from Stapleton High School in 1965.
Donna went to trade school to be certified as a dog groomer, a profession she spent over 40 years in. She also worked at Southview Manor as a CNA and in the kitchen. Later in life, she went to work at Walmart. While there, she met many friends that she really enjoyed working with.
Donna met the love of her life, Lorraine Gaudreault in 1990. They spent 35 years together, finally being able to be married in 2015 in a private ceremony surrounded by family. Together they built a home full of love and fur babies.
Donna was a lover of animals, especially dogs. She loved being part of a big family, especially the family dinners. She will be remembered for her warm smile and sense of humor.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and many cherished fur babies who were waiting to greet her at the rainbow bridge.
Donna is survived by wife, Lorraine; sisters-in-law: Cathy Gaudreault and Betty Gaudreault, both of Cozad; brothers-in-law: Pat (Chris) Gaudreault of Cozad, Sid (Rhonda) Gaudreault of Cozad, Tim (Selena) Gaudreault of Cozad, Mike (Jody) Gaudreault of Eustis; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
