Donna Pierce Boone

Donna Pierce Boone, 65, of Archdale, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Donna was born on August 14, 1960, in Thomasville, North Carolina, to the late Jackson Pierce and Carol Love Broadway. Donna was a great mom to her 2 girls, a wonderful sister and the very best Mimi to her grandchildren. She had a love for shopping-especially TJ Maxx-decorating and creating a home that all the neighbors admired. She had a gift for making family, friends, and coworkers laugh and was well known as the comic relief at Fidelity Bank. Full of life and sass, Donna lived each day to the fullest.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Boone. She is now reunited with him and other loved ones: her brother, Mike Pierce, grandmother Ina Pierce, aunt Shirley Stilwell, and stepfather Richard Broadway.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Boone Jennings (Matt) and Courtney Boone Pennell (Matthew); her grandchildren, Grace Caudle, Will Caudle, Ava Boone, Naomi Pennell, Ava Jennings, Caden Jennings; her sister, Teresa Leonard (Tim); sister-in-law, Becky Mateer; brother, Frank Broadway; nieces and nephews, Tony Leonard, Trevor Leonard, Tara Hunt, Shane Boone, Shaun Pierce, Madison Broadway, Marcus Broadway, Mason Broadway; her best friends, Tammy Stevens, Joyce Welch, and Beverly Caffey; and her most loved four-legged daughter, Sadie.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Archdale Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, with Pastor Jeff Stone officiating. The committal service will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
