Mary Donna Beddingfield Bradley, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Henderson County at the age of 76. Born on April 23, 1949, in Henderson County, she lived a life full of love, dedication, and creativity.
Donna's career was marked by her commitment to caring for others. She began her professional journey as an Operator with Bellsouth before serving as a Secretary at Shepherd Funeral Home. Her passion for helping people led her to pursue nursing, where she worked as an LPN and Registered Nurse at St. Joseph, Mission, Pardee, and Transylvania Hospitals. Throughout her years of service, she touched many lives with her kindness and compassion.
In addition to her professional life, Donna had a vibrant array of interests. She was an accomplished artist, finding joy in painting, quilting, and embroidery. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her enthusiasm for fishing and bear hunting. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Donlo Wilkie and Margie Johnson Beddingfield, and her brother, Donlo Stephen Beddingfield. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son George Bradley and his wife Hannah of Johns Island, SC; her daughter Amy Stewart and her husband Jud of Mills River, NC; her cherished grandchildren Katie Dawn Highsmith and her husband Jonathan, William Benjamin Stewart, and William Jacob Bradley; her sister Betty Kilpatrick and her husband James of Green River, NC; and her dear friend Velina Netherton. Donna's faithful canine companion, Bella, will also miss her dearly.
Family and friends are invited to honor Donna's life during a visitation on Friday, August 15, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Church Street Funeral & Cremation. Additional visitation times will be held at the home of Amy Stewart. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Mount Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 3582 Mt Olivet Rd,
Zirconia, NC.
