DONNA CARRIER Obituary

DONNA CARRIER Donna Irene (White) Carrier, 72, a lifelong resident of Sterling, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024. Donna was born May 16, 1951. She was a graduate of Standish Sterling Central High School, class of 1969. Her hobbies were socializing and playing cards with family and friends. Donna's passion was cooking and serving others. She cooked, wait staffed, and managed multiple restaurants in Arenac and Bay County since 1966. She retired in 2017 from Linwood Corners Restaurant. She was also a volunteer EMT for Arenac County from 1984-1998. Through her unfailing work ethic and compassion for people, she gave tirelessly of her talents. She always served with a smile and was loved by all that knew her. Donna is survived by her husband, Robert Carrier, whom she married April 24, 1970. The love of her life for 53 years. Donna's legacy included her four children: Leslie (Alison) Carrier, Lyle Carrier, Lynn (Amanda) Carrier, and Lori Backensto (RJ De Land). Her grandchildren; Zachary, Brandon, Gavin, Jasmine, Steven, Autumn, Lexi, Kelsie, Hannah, Ryan, Connor, Sadie and Thomas. Great-Grandchildren; Gentry and Willow. Siblings; Linda (Jim) Gray, Paula (Bill) Switala, Gerald (Fran) White, Maria (White) Rose and numerous nieces and nephews. Donna is also survived by her best friend Patricia Gallagher. She is predeceased by, her father and mother, Gerald and Ruth (Garrity) White, sister, Norma Linton, brother, Raymond (Terry) White, and brother-in-law, Dick Linton. A memorial date will be announced at a later time.
