Donna M. Charneski

Donna M. Charneski, 74, of Fond du Lac, died on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on November 14, 1949, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Elmer and Irene (Hoglund) Smet. On November 4, 1972, she married Gary Charneski in Fond du Lac. Donna was a member of Holy Family Parish. She worked as an LPN in her early years and later in life loved working as a florist. Donna was a Beatle’s fanatic, Neil Diamond fan, loved going to concerts, and in her spare time enjoyed traveling and shopping. Her greatest love was for her family.

 

She is survived by her husband, Gary; two children, Kate Charneski of Milwaukee and Anthony (Monica) Charneski of West Allis; two grandchildren, Charles and Christian; five brothers, Paul (Cathy) Smet, John (Jean) Smet, Mark (Missy) Smet, Dan (Julie) Smet, and Daniel Firks; sister, Lisa (Ricky) Collien; four brothers-in-law, Donald (partner, Nan) Charneski, John (Val) Charneski, Mark (Amy) Charneski, and Keith Melius; two sisters-in-law, Jaclyn (Jerry) King and Carol (Roger) Reitz; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Irene; son, Andrew Charneski; brother, Peter Smet; sister, Diane (Ron) Riggs; and three sisters-in-law, Donna Melius, Mary Smet-Wendels, and Mary Charneski.

 

The visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 10:30 AM with entombment to follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
