Donna Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Amling - Schroeder Funeral Service - Bandon Chapel on Dec. 15, 2025.
Donna "Marlene" Davis was born on June 21, 1938, in McMinnville, Oregon, to Elmer and Velna Robison, and passed away on November 24, 2025, in Bandon, Oregon. At 87, Marlene remained fiercely independent, living out her final years in her own home in Bandon, surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends.

She will be remembered for her giving, ambitious spirit and for the dedication she brought to every interest she pursued. She canned the food she grew, baked homemade bread, made clothing for her children, crocheted, restored antique caned chairs, sold her hand-knitted hats locally for many years, and created beautiful wool rugs. She actively supported her children's sports and 4-H activities and served in leadership roles for many years. She also found great joy in growing flowers, especially her beloved roses.

Marlene's work and volunteer history touched countless lives. She gave generously of her time, resources, and talents for the benefit of others. She built her own business, The Knitting Nook, where she sold supplies and taught many the joys of knitting. Later, she moved to Vancouver, Washington, where she spent many years managing multiple Subway restaurants.

After returning to Bandon, Marlene continued serving her community as a volunteer with the Women's Health Day hosted by Southern Coos Hospital and Health Center, supporting education and awareness in women's health and cancer prevention. She also enjoyed time with friends at her weekly knitting group at The Wool Company in Bandon, where she continued to share her knowledge generously with others.

Marlene left an indelible imprint on the lives of many, especially the young children she guided through their years in 4-H. Whether helping them learn to care for animals, teaching home economics, or sharing her vast knowledge of textile arts, she inspired confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in those she mentored.

Her hands created beauty, and her memory will continue to bloom in the hearts and lives she touched.

She is survived by two brothers: Delmer Robison and his wife, Susan, of Bandon; and Daryl Robison and his wife, Adella, of Sixes, Oregon. Her five children: Dan Davis and his wife, Celia; Donna Pettitt and her husband, Joe (deceased), both of Bandon; Mike Davis and his wife, Karen, of Talent, Oregon; Kelly Davis and his wife, Tonia, of Ashland, Oregon; and Carrie Sue Rosvold and her husband, Kris, of Terrebonne, Oregon. And many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she treasured dearly.

Marlene was preceded in death by her grandson Dustin; her sister, Kay Vincent, and Kay's husband, Bill.

A celebration of her life and legacy will take place on January 3, 2026 - 1:00 p.m.

Sorry to learn of the passing of Marlene. Though we haven´t been in touch for years, I have nice memories of her. We were in high school together, and both of us were in the band. I was a couple years ahead of her. May she rest in peace.
