Donna Jeann Herling deJong, 72, Went to go be with her lord and savior peacefully, on February 14, 2026, after wonderful and loving care from Achieve Rehabilitation & Nursing Facility in Liberty, New York, surrounded by very special longtime friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Born in Middletown Ny October 29 1953, she was the daughter of Robert f Herling and Elizabeth M Storms, She is Survived by her children Kenneth deJong wife Debra of Middletown, Wendy Koester husband Dave of Naples, Matthew deJong wife Kerri of Greenville, her brother Michael Herling wife Fran of Milford PA, her sister Kim Herling of Tennesee, grandchildren Eden Lynn, Michael, Mark Thomas of Naples, Trace, Leland and Mattison deJong of Greenville, she is predeceased by her cherished daughter Jill Catherine deJong, her parents, her brothers Allen and Bruce Herling.

Donna was a retired school teacher from Warwick Christian Academy in Warwick NY, and served as a loving Nanny after retirement to her ''sweetie' 'Annabelle Rose Craig, her ''dumplin''' Cassie Jane Raftery, her ''bubba Mason Christy, her ''little man'' Elliot Christy, her ''dalin'' Jorden Vitoulis and her '' silly boy'' Asher Vitoulis, all who were very special to her.

Donna was a lifelong member of The First Congregational church in Middletown NY where she taught Sunday school, Jr church, was a member of the Puritan Guild, Womens Fellowship, and Sunshine committee. She was also a member of The Ladies Auxiliary of American legion post 151, Hudson valley doll club, and the Red Hats Society. She loved, sewing, quilting and browsing through antique shops and flea markets. Donna always reminded her children '' IF YOU CAN'T BE GOOD BE CARFULL'' AND '' LIFE IS SHORT MAKE IT SWEET.''

A celebration of life service will be held at The First Congregational Church in Middletown, NY, on February 27, 2026, at 6pm.
