Donna M. Fester

FORT WORTH - Donna Musulin Fester, 79, a retired teacher, passed away March 2, 2025.
Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite B, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; followed by a graveside service at 1 PM in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Donna was born in Paris, Texas, September 13, 1945, to Nicholas and Jennie Atanaso Musulin, where Nicholas was stationed at Army Camp Maxey. His discharge in December allowed the family to return to his hometown, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Donna received a B.S. in Education from Duquesne University in 1966, and taught French and English literature in Pittsburgh ISD before marrying Jim Fester of Fort Worth in 1971. His service with the Air Force enabled her to continue her career in Indiana, Missouri, Louisiana and Texas. She loved her students and the many diverse friendships and cultures she experienced.
She was preceded in death by two infant sons and brother in law, Tom Vash.
Donna is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Fester; daughter, Dawn Brand and husband, David; grandchildren, Kaylee, Mason, Cooper, and Cade Brand; siblings, Joanne Vash, Cely Lucas and husband, Randy, John Musulin and wife, Sally, all of Pittsburgh, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christian Counseling Fund of Wedgewood Baptist Church.
Donna's friend, Sandy Kosanovich, gave her a birthday card for her 70th with this poem:
"I'm so glad we're friends"
Between the best of friends, There's a very special tie
That binds them to each other As the days and years go by-
No words can ever quite convey The heartfelt love they share,
But the close relationship they feel Is something very rare.
There's a special bond between us That grows throughout the years, A wonderful and caring tie
That passing time endears."
This describes Donna's feelings for all her friends.
