Donna Jones Gainey

Donna Jones Gainey, age 66, passed away at home on March 31, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born January 17, 1959, in Wake County, to Gwendolyn Beasley Jones Batten and the late Charles Edward Jones, Sr.
Donna was a kind and faithful soul, devoted to Jesus Christ. She cherished her children and found immense joy in her grandchildren who lovingly called her "Amma". As a hairdresser for over 45 years, she brightened the lives of everyone who sat in her chair, sharing her warmth and light. Her contagious laugh and radiant smile could light up any room, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Christy McBride (Michael), Laura Holben (Jake); grandchildren: Carley Boroughs, Collin Boroughs, Brooks Holben; mother, Gwen Batten; sisters: Deborah Bamford (William), Charlene Stallings (Gerald); brother, Eddie Jones (Deborah); nephews and nieces: Wade Stallings, Keith Stallings, Christopher Bamford, Candace Bamford, Matthew Corbett as well as her uncle Roy "Don" Beasley (Mary Faye), for whom she was named.
In addition to her father, Donna was preceded in death by her bonus father, Joe Batten.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, April 4, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale. Graveside service will be held following, at 2:00 pm, at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the funeral home.
