Donna Glick Obituary
Donna L. Glick, 95, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 surrounded by family members at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Donna was born on January 17, 1931, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Fredrick James and Lena Reynolds Solomon.
She was the beloved wife of Lynn H. Glick whom she married August 25, 1950; he preceded her in death April 29, 2025.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted daughters, Linda Forster of Hartsville, Mary (Jerry) Williams of Indianapolis and Karen (Brian) Forster of Olathe, Kansas and daughter-in-law, Marybeth Glick of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her son, Myron Glick.
She leaves behind a legacy in her loving ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren, whose lives are a testament to her enduring love and guidance.
Donna L. Glick, a cherished and vibrant spirit, recognized by many for her enthusiastic involvement in the community and her passion for helping others. Spent most of her childhood in Hope, she carried the small-town values of compassion, service, and friendship throughout her entire life.
Graduating from Hope High School in 1949. She furthered her education at St. Vincent School of Nursing. Donna set the stage for a lifetime of learning and service. Her commitment to spiritual growth was evident in her active membership at Newburn United Methodist Church.
Donna's dedication to her faith continued to flourish as she became a treasured Sunday School teacher at Newbern Methodist Church. She was also an avid participant in the 3 "M's" Sunday School class and the Women's Bible study at First Christian Church, always eager to learn more and deepen her understanding.
Her leadership skills shone brightly during her tenure as president of the Home Demonstration Club, endearingly known as Spoon & Thimble. As a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Bartholomew County, the Flower Lane Garden Club, and the Order of Eastern Star since 1950, Donna's passion for history, genealogy, nature, and fellowship enriched the lives of all who knew her.
Never one to sit idle, Donna invested her time in hobbies such as painting, cooking, sewing, and embroidery. Her artwork, culinary delights, and handcrafted pieces were sources of joy and admiration among her friends and family.
Donna's adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively, visiting all fifty states and twenty countries. She was a living example of how to embrace life's adventures with enthusiasm and an open heart.
Donna's legacy is one of love, devotion, and boundless energy for the things that matter most in life. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, teaching us all the importance of family, community, faith, and the joy of every day.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Al White officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation 10:00 a.m. to time of service.
Donna will be laid to rest next to her late husband at the Hope Moravian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, First Christian Church or the Myron Glick Memorial Scholarship Fund.
