Donna Granat Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Silha Funeral Homes - Beach on Feb. 2, 2026.
Donna May Granat, 77, of Dickinson, ND, formerly of Beach, ND, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Dickinson, North Dakota. Donna's Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Silha Funeral Home in Beach, North Dakota with Pastor Liz Franz officiating. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Silha Funeral Home in Beach, ND. Silha Funeral Home of Beach, North Dakota has been entrusted with arrangements. Donna was born in Moorhead, MN to Walter and Frieda (Schettley) Feldmann. Donna was educated in Beach, ND and a trade school in Bismarck, ND. After school, she moved back to Beach in 1966 where she worked at the hospital in Beach as a cook.

Donna met Carl Granat at a picnic in June, 1968 and were married shortly thereafter on November 23, 1968 at the First Lutheran Church in Beach. Following their wedding, they made their home at the Granat Family homestead for a while before moving to Beach. After living in Beach for a time, they moved to Stu Gustafson's farm south of Golva, ND where they made their home until retirement. When they retired from the farm in November of 2002, they moved into Golva and lived there until August of 2025 when they moved to the Golden Valley Manor in Beach, ND. For a short time before her passing, she was a resident at Benedictine Living Community in Dickinson, ND.

Their marriage was blessed with 3 children, Laurie in October of 1969, Julie in August of 1971 and Scott in April of 1976.

Donna was a member of First Lutheran Church in Beach. She enjoyed planting flowers, crocheting, canning, and collecting Holstein cows. Carl had his dairy cows in the barn, and Donna had her own "herd" in the house. She had cows everywhere! She sold Avon for 22 years and enjoyed getting the new catalogs with all the fun things they came out with. She liked visiting with her Avon customers while delivering their orders. She found pleasure in using her Avon income to give gifts to her family. Donna was a proud breast cancer survivor.

Donna is survived by her husband, Carl of Dickinson, ND; her daughters, Laurie Goodrich and Julie (Randy) Binstock of Dickinson, ND; her son Scott (Samantha) of Gillette, WY; her sister Judy Vincent of Beach, ND; Grandchildren Jade Watson, Dickinson, ND; Jackson (Abigail) Binstock, Bismarck, ND; Jamie Goodrich, Albuquerque, NM; Tanner (Aubrey) Binstock, Killdeer, ND ; Sydney Binstock, Bismarck, ND; Allison Granat and Eric Granat, Gillette, WY; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Frieda, brother-in-law, George Vincent; Carl's parents and siblings; and grandson Jordan Pierce.

We would like to thank the staff at CHI Hospital and Benedictine Living Community in Dickinson for the wonderful care during her recent short illnesses.

Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.SilhaFuneralHomes.com.
