Donna Hanneman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Herman-Taylor Funeral Home - Wisconsin Rapids on Dec. 12, 2025.
Donna Marie Hanneman, age 73, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Dr. Michael Hanson will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the church.

Donna was born February 3, 1952 in Wisconsin Rapids to Gilbert and Grace (Kolinski) Habeck. She married Dale Hanneman on October 15, 1977. They were blessed with three beautiful, loving and caring daughters and Donna's best friends as they loved mom tagging along with them on shopping trips or just to get a coffee.

Donna was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She attended grade school at Immanuel and high school at Lincoln High, graduating in 1970. She then attended MSTC, where she was in the first class of the Early Childhood Education Program. After graduating, she worked as a preschool teacher at Marshfield Day Care Center for two years. She was then hired by Peppermint Playskool in Wisconsin Rapids and worked there for five years as a preschool teacher and Assistant Director. Donna was very fortunate to stop working in public day cares and stay home when her and Dale started their family. Donna loved sharing her love, time and patience and the love of Jesus with children. When Krista, their youngest daughter was four years old, Donna began to do some in home child care for about 15 years. After she thought she was retired, she started to work at Immanuel Lutheran School in the schools Cougar Kids Program, a before and after school program, and retired in June 2017 after 15 years with the program. After retirement, she still had her love of children and would watch her great niece Keierra for several years.

Donna enjoyed the art of rubber stamping, making greeting cards, attending workshops, classes, and getting together to spend time with fellow stampers. She also loved family gatherings; just sitting around and talking, having family game nights, and especially holidays spent with family and shopping with her daughters. She loved to play bingo, going to the casino, and beating her sister Thea at a few Scrabble games. Dale said he did not like playing cards with her because she made up her rules as she played, kind of like her grandmother Bushy.

Donna is survived by her husband Dale; daughters: Tori Hanneman of Stevens Point and Amanda and Krista Hanneman of Wisconsin Rapids; her siblings: David (Diane) Habeck, Alan (Cathy) Habeck, and Thea (Brian) Hanson; sister-in-law Sue Entwistle; nieces: Sara Zingsheim, Heather Fraire, Jamie Delevan, Jennifer Grunden, and April Habeck; nephews: Greg Simonis, Brian Simonis, Chris Simonis, Jeff Simonis, Casey Hanneman, Pastor Michael Hanson (nephew and Godson), and Patrick Hanson; as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Grace Habeck; grandparents: Carl and Anna (Saeger) Habeck and William and Isabelle (Nowak) Kolinski; brother Kenneth Habeck; sisters-in-law: Laurie Habeck and Sherri Hanneman; brothers-in-law: Greg Simonis and Gary Entwistle; nephew Justin Habeck; and great niece Arlene Hughes Habeck.
