Donna Baize Henderson, age 80 of Gatesville, passed away on January 30, 2026. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Donna was born on June 6, 1945, in Gatesville, Texas to the late James and Wanda Baize. Donna graduated from Marfa High School in 1963. She spent most of her life in Midland, Texas before moving back to Gatesville in 2002. Donna married Ronald Henderson in 1985 and together they raised their son, Nicholas Henderson. Donna worked for Southwestern Bell for close to 50 years, starting as an operator and working her way through the company before her retirement in 2001.
Donna loved to scrapbook, leaving meaningful memories for her loved ones. She was an active member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Post 19, in Midland. She held many offices including Auxiliary President and numerous district offices which allowed her to travel to many states and included many Veterans hospital visits.
Donna loved spending time with her family, especially her son, grandchildren and her four sisters.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Henderson; daughter, Samantha Mawhiney; and sister, Linda Survant.
She is survived by her son, Nicholas Henderson; grandchildren, Azelynn Henderson, Brystol Henderson, and Atlas Henderson; sisters, Rose Mary Moreland, Patsy Baize, and Dickie Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
