Celebrating the Life of Donna Kaye Hicks December 14, 1958 – December 28, 2025
With profound love and heartfelt remembrance, we announce the passing of Donna Kaye Hicks, who entered eternal rest on December 28, 2025, at the age of 67, in Victoria, Texas. Donna was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brought warmth and love to all who knew her.
Donna was born on December 14, 1958, in Victoria, Texas, to the late Rosie H. Barnett and the late Ralphfeal Hicks. She was raised with strong faith and deep family values that guided her throughout her life.
She attended historic Black schools in Victoria, Texas, where she proudly participated in the pep squad and played basketball. Donna later worked in the medical field for many years before her health required her to step away.
Donna was known for her caring heart and love for family. She enjoyed being surrounded by those she loved and found joy in togetherness. She had a warm laugh, a beautiful smile, and a natural way of making others feel comfortable. Donna loved cooking for her family, took pride in her appearance, and enjoyed sports, laughter, and good times shared with loved ones.
She cherished being a mother and was deeply devoted to her two daughters, Tanzaneka "Nikki" Drennan and Jessica Hicks, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Donna was blessed with four granddaughters-Kendria Collums, Raven Collums, Mariah Hamilton, and Zariah Hicks-one grandson, Tyler Collums, and one great-grandson, Donovan Garza.
She lovingly embraced her stepdaughter, Felicia Brown, who held a special place in Donna's heart, along with Felicia's daughters and grandchildren.
She was also honored to have two godsons, Ahmad Rashad Williams and Zyron Williams.
Donna is survived by her devoted partner of forty years, Ernest Littles.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Rosie H. Barnett and Ralphfeal Hicks; her sister, Cheryl Barnett; and her niece, Tamara Barnett.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters; grandchildren and great-grandson; devoted partner; her sisters Tessie, Carla, Veda, Della, Sandra, and Lydia; her brothers Jarrad, Jerome, and Jeriwyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Absent from the body, present with the Lord. – 2 Corinthians 5:8
