Donna J Jacobs

Donna J. Jacobs, a beloved member of the West Harrison community, passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on August 19, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Vernan and Virginia Mae Guthrie (nee Lamance), Donna was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
At the tender age of 13, Donna met the love of her life, Gregory E. Jacobs, and they went on to marry on October 4, 1969, when she was just 18 years old. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventures. Their family grew to include three wonderful children: Greg C. "Bubba" Jacobs, Jenny Jacobs, and Johnny P. Jacobs. Donna's heart shone brightest in her role as "Mamaw Donna" to her 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her warm spirit and the memories they created together.
Donna was a simple woman with a profound appreciation for the world around her. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and joy. She embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm, enjoying hunting and fishing alongside her family. Her laughter and love for a good joke were infectious, often catching those around her off guard with her wonderful sense of humor and refreshing honesty.
A gifted cook, Donna poured her heart into every meal she prepared, lovingly feeding everyone who crossed her threshold. She took great joy in sharing her culinary creations with others, transforming each gathering into a celebration of food, family, and friendship. Her passion extended to woodworking, and with the help of her husband Greg, she crafted a workshop at their home on Johnson Fork Road where she expressed her creativity through many beautiful projects.
Donna is preceded in death by her beloved son, Greg C. "Bubba" Jacobs; her parents, Vernan and Virginia Guthrie; and her siblings, Butch Guthrie and Janie Kahle. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Gregory E. Jacobs; her loving children, Jenny Jacobs and Johnny P. (Donna) Jacobs; her siblings, John, Paul Pete, Daniel, Joe, Charlie, and Eddie; and a large extended family that includes her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation to honor Donna's life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 2 PM until the time of the funeral service at 4 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, located at 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030. It will be a time for family and friends to gather, share stories, and reflect on the love and memories that Donna has left behind. All who knew her are encouraged to come together to celebrate a remarkable woman whose spirit will live on in the hearts of many.
