Donna Kampmeier, 76, of Silver Lake, passed away on September 12, 2025 at Stormont Vail Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 21, 1949 to Bernard "Bernie" and Marie (Laundy) Thompson in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1967, she then attended Bethany College and later graduated from Pittsburgh State University.
Donna worked as a Registered Nurse for the Shawnee County Health Department as well as USD 501 at Highland Park High School.
On January 12, 1978 she married Willard Kampmeier. Donna and Willard lived in Silver Lake, Kansas.
She was a member of the Silver Lake United Methodist Church, Red Hats, and a life long Girl Scout. She enjoyed playing BINGO for fun, as well as WWE Wrestling.
Donna is survived by her daughter; Regina (Brent Phelps) Kampmeier, step son; Michael (Cindy) Kampmeier, step daughters; Marilyn Vest, Susan (Stan) Beers, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years; Willard Kampmeier, father; Bernard Thompson, mother; Marie Thompson, brother; Tommy Thompson, step son; Chris Kampmeier, step son in-law; Charlie Vest and a grandson and a great nephew.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, 10:00 am at Silver Lake United Methodist Church, 204 Madore St, Silver Lake, Kansas 66539.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 11:00 am at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church, 204 Madore St, Silver Lake, Kansas 66539, with Pastor Christine Potter, officiating.
Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025 12:00 pm in the Silver Lake Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
Memorials are suggested to the Silver Lake United Methodist Church, 204 Madore St, Silver Lake, Kansas 66539.
