Donna Land Obituary
Donna Sue Rogers Land departed from this life on November 26, 2025 at her home. She was born November 9, 1958 in Rome, Georgia to Sidney Rogers and Clora Belle Rogers. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Diane Heath; nephews Terry Heath and Brian Rogers; niece Lisa Rogers; and sisters-in-law Nadine Rogers and Debra Rogers. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Joe Land; sister, Rita Blackstock (Bennie); brothers, Ricky Rogers (Sheryl), Wayne Rogers (Carol), Ronnie Rogers (Lahoma), James "Buzzy" Rogers, and Kenneth Rogers (Maxine); and several nieces and nephews.
Sue grew up in Kingston, Georgia. She attended and graduated from Cass High School in 1976. She had worked Davis Brothers, Calmore Industries, and Shaw Industries for 41 years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Kingston until 1982 when she joined Young Street Baptist Church in Cartersville.
Sue married Joe Land on March 18, 1989. If you ever met her you would find that she was a devoted Christian and Church Member. She was very instrumental in helping form innumerable children on the path toward salvation. She let them know that she could not save them but she introduced them to the one that could. She lived a life of meekness but she was not weak. She has taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School as well as working in the lunch room during VBS. She was open about her faith and those that had the privilege to work alongside her would listen to her sing old hymns as she worked.
She loved her family, her friends, and her church family. The thing that stood out the most about Sue was how she lived by her faith. She lived her life in joy; Jesus first, others second, and then herself last. Life was not always easy for her, but she knew that all she had to do was hang in there and Her God would take care of her. Even though she battled cancer for close to 18 months, she remained concerned about the well being of others.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend Alton Williams and Brother Tristan Martin will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews Steve Cowart, Stacy Rogers, Justin Rogers, Adam Rogers, Jeremy Rogers, and Glen Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Hope Center in Cartersville in Sue's honor.
Parnick Jennings Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
