Donna May Marrs

Donna May Marrs, with her beloved husband holding her hand and surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
On February 4, 1949, in Huron, South Dakota, God blessed the world with the gift of Donna May, one of six siblings born to Charlotte Nessa. She married the love of her life, David Robert Marrs, on August 14, 1971. Together, they had four children and nine grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and she never missed an opportunity to tell each of them how deeply they were loved and how blessed she felt having them in her life.
Donna leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family and community. Donna served others her entire life, and worked as a compassionate nurse for fifty-one years. She always showed up for her family, whether cheering them on, encouraging them, or serving them with love. She was generous with her time, her words, and her actions. She never missed a milestone, birthday, or holiday, and she loved nothing more than a sunny day spent by the lake, fishing and skiing with her grandkids.
Donna's life and the tender way she treated people could never be summed up in a paragraph or two, but fortunately for those of us who loved her dearly, there are pages upon pages written for her in our hearts where she will remain forever. A helping hand or a random act of kindness for someone would truly honor her memory and would be very much appreciated by her loved ones. This, more than anything else, would capture the generosity of spirit and the grace with which Donna lived her life.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, David; her children, Bridget, Matt (Karey), Dave (Jenny), and Katie (Shawn); her nine grandchildren-Drew, Kennedy, Mallory, Natalie, Ben, Nathan, Sylvie, Charlotte, and Luke-who will forever cherish her joyful
spirit and unwavering love.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held at St. Bernard of Clairvaux in Bella Vista, Arkansas on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Coats for Kids at https://www.bvstbernard.org/Giving.
This ministry was near to Donna's heart, as she faithfully served as co-chair for over a decade.
Rest in peace, Donna May Marrs, a faithful servant and beloved wife, mother, and Nana. Because of Donna's deep, abiding faith, we mourn not as those without hope, but with the confident assurance that we will be reunited in Eternity.
