Christian Biography of Donna F. Meyer
Donna Faye (Jensby) Meyer, the daughter of Leslie and Leona (Harling) Jensby, was born on March 28, 1935, at
Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away on February 8, 2026 at Thayer County Health Services in
Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 10 months, 11 days.
Donna was baptized April 21, 1935 at the First Presbyterian Church in Nelson. She was confirmed at the Union Church in Hardy on June 12, 1949. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 37:5 "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." She grew up on a farm on the edge of Hardy where she attended school graduating May 21, 1953. She worked and lived in Superior a short time until she married Orville Meyer on November 21, 1954 at the Union Church in Hardy. She and Orville made their home on the Meyer family farm at Ruskin. They had six children Bruce Leroy, Bradley Gene, Brian Kim, Brent Douglas, Julie Dianne and Amy Lynette. Donna was a devoted wife, who loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed attending their many events and games.
She enjoyed camping with family, and wintering in Texas. Her hobbies included sewing in which she made hundreds of quilts. She spent a lot of time in her garden and flower beds. She was a very faithful women-and instilled that in her family, which was a huge comfort to all her family. She loved Huskers sports. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and LWML, and their card party group that met once a month for nearly 70 years.
A message from Donna; "Keep the one thing that does not change. Faith in Jesus our Savior, Gods Son!! Don't sweat the small stuff! Give it all to God!!!
She was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Leona; her husband Orville, on August 10, 2011, and her brothers Robert Jensby, Roy Leon Jensby and Kenneth Jensby.
Survivors include her children Bruce of Ruskin, Bradley (Cindy) of Nora, Brian of Superior, Brent (Lynn) of Denton, Nebraska, Julie (Kirk) Shuck of Doniphan, Nebraska and Amy (Jeff) Nienhueser of Juniata, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren: Nicole (Mike) Zucker, Chad (Sheena) Meyer, Cody (Gaby) Meyer, Brooke (Taylor) Dirks, Brandon (Jessica) Meyer, Trevor Meyer, Sidney Meyer, Kenny (Mariella) Meyer, Keaton (Gwen) Meyer, Tara Meyer, Nathaniel (Valerie) Meyer, Danielle (Spencer) Fecht, Drew Shuck, Ty Shuck, Tanner (Arianna) Shuck, Hope and Halle Nienhueser; 23 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 10:00 am from the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Nebraska with Pastor Brian Francik officiating.
Visitation will be on February 12, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 5-7 at the funeral home in Superior.
Interment was in the St. Mark Lutheran Church Cemetery at Ruskin, Nebraska.
