Donna Miles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home on Mar. 12, 2026.
Donna Yencer Miles, 61, of Hartford City, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her home in rural Hartford City, surrounded by the comfort of those she loved.

Donna was born on March 14, 1964, in Hartford City, Indiana, to Joseph E. and Rosetta May (Beeks) Yencer. She graduated from Blackford High School in 1982 and went on to dedicate many years of hard work to H.P. Products, Key Plastics, and 3M, all in Hartford City.

Donna was a woman of incredible strength, perseverance, and faith. Throughout her life she faced many difficult health battles, yet she met each one with courage and determination. In 2018, Donna bravely fought and overcame endometrial cancer. She had also lived with lupus for more than twenty years, showing remarkable resilience through the challenges it brought. Over the past year and a half, Donna fought a courageous battle with AML (acute myeloid leukemia). Through it all, she remained strong, determined, and deeply grateful for the love and support of her family and friends.

Faith was an important part of Donna's life. Over the years she attended Hopewell Church, Bethel Center Church, and Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene, finding comfort and strength in her faith.

Donna's greatest joy came from her family. She married the love of her life, Tony, on June 26, 1999 at 3:30 PM at Olive Branch Church of the Nazarene. Together Tony and Donna took on their lifes proudest role, raising their granddaughter Mady. She poured into their relationship with unconditional love, strength, and guidance at every stage of Mady's life. She truly was a devoted wife, mother, mamaw, aunt, sister, and friend who cherished the time spent with those she loved. Her grandchildren especially held a special place in her heart, bringing her endless pride and happiness.

Donna loved spending time with her family and attending their activities and events. Her happiest moments were often the simple ones spent outdoors. She enjoyed sitting on the porch, mowing the yard, tending to her flower beds, bird watching, relaxing by the pool, and taking vacations to the beach. She also loved baking and cherished quiet moments at home, often taking naps alongside the family dog, Athena.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tony Miles of Hartford City; her sons, Larry Joe (Jessica) Whitesell III of Hartford City, Erik Whitesell of Hartford City, and Allen (Heather) Whitesell of Albany; her brothers and sisters, Frank (Faye) Yencer of Liberty Center, Pat (Ron) Ferguson of Fort Wayne, Jim (Kim) Yencer of Montpelier, Jerry Yencer of Montpelier, Beth Fritts of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Donny (Barb) Yencer of Hartford City, speical niece, Stephanie and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was blessed with several grandchildren whom she dearly loved: Madysen, Aubrey, Caleb, Caiden, Tinley, Alivia, and Megan.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph E. Yencer; mother, Rosetta May (Beeks) Yencer; brothers, Joe Yencer Jr. and Charles Yencer; and sister, Wanda Yencer.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, prior to the service.

A celebration of Donna's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home with her brother, Frank Yencer, officiating. Interment will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made to Blackford County Cancer Society and/or Fair Haven Foundation, Inc., 1702 W. 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202 or by visiting FairHavenFoundation.org.
