Donna J. Olary

Donna Jean Olary, age 91 of Port Huron, passed away in her home of 67 years on November 23, 2025. Donna was born on March 14, 1934, in Huron County. She was the daughter of the late Owen Robert Witherspoon and Alvina Hannah (Pleiness) Witherspoon. She was a 1951 graduate of Port Huron High School, and she married George J. Olary on June 6, 1953.

Donna was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Company, as an operator, while raising her family. Donna enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, gardening and camping. She was involved with the PTA, Port Huron Minor Hockey Association and she also opened her home up to several of the Silver Skate Stick players and Port Huron Figure Skating Club.

After her children had grown, Donna returned to work for several local physicians as a medical biller. Upon her retirement, she loved to travel, the United States, including Alaska and traveling to Mexico, Ireland, Spain and the Caribbean.

Donna is survived by her children; James (Bonnie) Olary, Brian (Carol) Olary and Laura Olary, grandchildren; Jennifer (Jeremy), Jessica (Michael), Jaclyn (James), Brian II (Melanie) and Brad, great grandchildren; Haylee, Reagan, Daniel (Rose), James, Brian III, her great- great grandson, Mateo, brother, Larry Owen (Sylvia) Witherspoon, sister, Carol Ann Witherspoon and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Olary, her parents, and sister, Glenda Hilda (Witherspoon) Jowett.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 12:00pm (noon) in the Jowett Funeral Home - 1634 Lapeer Ave. Port Huron.

Minister Shaun Laurain will officiate. The burial will be in Kinney Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday, December 1, 2025, in the funeral home from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and again on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 11:00am until the time of service at noon.

The pallbearers will be Donna's family.
