Donna Brackett Ramsey

Donna Brackett Ramsey, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026 in Franklin, North Carolina at her home.

Born on May 31, 1949 in Toccoa, Georgia, Donna was the daughter of James Devero and Mae Sue Brackett. She lived a life defined by service, faith and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.

A lifelong caregiver, she selflessly cared for her parents, siblings, extended family, and loved ones throughout her life, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her Christian faith was central to who she was – she was a devoted member of Hill Street Baptist Church, and her belief in God remained strong and comforting to her, even in her final days.

She will be remembered as caring, kind, devoted, and resilient – and, for those who knew her well, delightfully spirited at times. Donna had a feisty streak and wasn't afraid to speak her mind, a quality that brought laughter, strength and honesty into the lives of those around her.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, John Carlton Ramsey; her children and their spouses, Steven and Sandra Ramsey, and Jodi Ramsey Sandrini and Jorge Sandrini; her cherished granddaughter, Nevaeh Marie Ramsey; daughter of Steven Ramsey and Kathleen McClellan; her brother, Robert Brackett; her sister-in-law, Barbara Brackett; her nephew and spouse, James and April Brackett, and his family; her niece, Kay Brackett Dixion, and her family; her nephew, Richard Brackett, and his family; her niece, Gloria Sosa, and her children; her nephew, Robbie Wilbanks, and his children; and her sister-in-law, Florence Grafton, and her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae Sue Brackett; her siblings, Evelyn Wilbanks and Nelson Brackett; her brother-in-law, Eugene Willbanks; her nephew, Michael (Mickey) Brackett; and her sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Jack Stovall.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 28, from 12:00 – 1:45 PM at Whitlock Mortuary. A graveside service will take place Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jamie Brackett, Chris Powell, Mark Randall, Jorge Sandrini and Steven Ramsey.
