Donna Reilly

Donna Reilly passed away at Brooke Grove Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on November 8, 2025. She was 88.

Donna was born on February 20, 1937, in Lower Allen Township, Pennsylvania, where she spent her childhood. She was the daughter of Dorsey and Vera Stonesifer. Donna married her ex-husband Hugh Reilly in 1963 in Washington DC. They had two children – David and Jeff (deceased), who they raised in Kensington, Maryland. In 2004, Donna moved to Leisure World in Silver Spring, where she lived until illness required her to be transferred to Brooke Grove.

Donna was a homemaker while her sons were growing up and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland while attending part time. After graduation, she worked for a number of years as a real estate property manager in Bethesda, Maryland.

Donna took great joy in her grandchildren, Megan and Patrick. She was an important part of their lives and remained in close contact with them throughout her life. Donna also enjoyed spending time with her friends at Leisure World, taking part in several of the clubs and numerous activities there and taking meditative walks on the grounds.

Donna loved to travel. One of her favorite places to visit was the Outer Banks, with David and his wife Alison, where she particularly enjoyed taking the ferry to Ocracoke Island. Not fond of the cold weather, she spent many winter months in Florida with her cousin Maryanne.

Donna converted to Catholicism while her children were attending Catholic grade school. She remained a devout Catholic, taking part in Bible study groups and other religious activities.

In accordance with Donna's wishes, no memorial service will be held.
