Patricia Ann Hahn

Passed away November 5, 2025. Patricia "Poe" Ann Hahn was born on June 18, 1942 to her parents, Thomas and Louise Walsh, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. She was the oldest of eight children. She grew up in Bethesda, Maryland where she attended Westbrook Elementary, Western Junior High and Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. She went to the University of Maryland where she earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees, as well as her PhD.
Patricia worked for Prince George's County Public Schools for a brief period, and then moved on to Montgomery County Public Schools where she worked for 23 years. During that time she was a teacher, administrator, area director, and Chief of Staff of MCPS schools. Patricia retired from Montgomery County Public Schools in 1999. After retirement, she worked on special projects with the American Federation of Teachers in Washington, DC.
Patricia became a grandmother in 2001. She took great pride in her new role as "Nonnie" to her six grandchildren. She spent many years enjoying babysitting opportunities, having cousin sleepovers, and attending their sporting events and birthday parties. She loved being a Nonnie!
Patricia is survived by her husband Mike Hahn, two sons, Jimmy (Kim) Sweeney, and Tim Sweeney, six grandchildren, and six of her siblings.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Service private.
